Safety is the number one priority at Westech Construction. Westech is committed to accident prevention in order to protect the safety and health of the public and their employees. Injury and illness losses due to hazards are needless, costly, and preventable. Safety is a responsibility that starts with management, then to the superintendents/foreman, and on to the field employees. Westech Construction has mastered the ability to complete specialty construction projects in busy public settings while maintaining complete safety and control for our employees and the general public.
Some Westech projects involving in-street construction under vehicular, LRT, and pedestrian traffic include Naito Parkway, Hwy 99E in downtown Oregon City, and NW 23rd Avenue, SE Sandy Blvd, Culley Blvd. and Lawnfield Road. These projects were in highly active areas during construction and were completed nearly incident-free. This is due to Westech’s commitment to a quality Public Safety Plan. The Public Safety Plan takes into account many resources such as OSHA, NIOSH, Westech Construction Safety Standards, Stamped Traffic Control Plans, and more. It gives details showing each phase of the construction project and the safety precautions that will be necessary to complete the activities safe and incident-free.
Westech Construction is committed to providing a safe work environment for all parties involved on our projects, including the general public. Westech’s safety and drug program conforms to the requirements of all of the major building contractors and public agency requirements. This policy has strict guidelines that are continually updated and refined to ensure a safe, drug free workplace. Westech Construction prides itself on approaching each project to minimize the traffic and safety impacts on the public and takes a pro-active approach in regards to public relations with those that are affected by Westech Construction’s construction activities. Westech also encourages continuing education in safety related training with our employees.
